duckydoty Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 This has got to be one of the best years I've ever had as far as mushroom hunting goes. Went hunting a couple of hours with a buddy this afternoon. I ended up with 325 of them and I know he had just as many. Been eating morels just about every day now for over a week. Had them with corn dogs and tater tots tonight. Think I'm gonna try and dehydrate most of this batch. I think the season is coming to a quick close here in the Branson area. Found a few that were beyond picking. jdmidwest Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 It has been spotty here, found 3 today, had them for supper. It is starting to get really green and hot. Ticks are horrible, picked a dozen of them from my outing today. They have been finding them in the lead belt. Seems like SE MO has been passed over by the shroom gods this year. No big bunches. BilletHead Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 OUTFRIGGINGTASTIC Duane! I looked again yesterday in my patch and it was a no go. Maybe the snow we are supposed to get tonight will trick them into another Spring sprout. I just showed Pat the haul you got and she said good grief I hope he gets a belly ache, hahahahahahah Marty "We have met the enemy and it is us", Pogo If you compete with your fellow anglers, you become their competitor, If you help them you become their friend" Lefty Kreh " Never display your knowledge, you only share it" Lefty Kreh "Eat more bass and there will be more room for walleye to grow!" ness Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Dang, ducky. Weather's been pretty screwy up here. Cold, hot, cold. Like JD -- it's greening up pretty good and making it tougher. Found one gray last weekend, and now we're looking at snow. John

BilletHead Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 hahahah Duane I am still trying to get over such a fine fungus pairing up with CORNDOGS and TATER TOTS. Ok maybe they were all beef wieners and that would make it right? ness Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 He'd go broke trying to eat steak with them every night. John
BilletHead Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Oh Ness, Ness, Ness at 30 to 35 bucks a pound he could of sold some to the unfortunate non finders and had some good steak. Better yet he could of called you or I and since I am half way between you two I could of been the middleman. I would of split up the gift fair and square BiletHead Fun at Duckys expense "We have met the enemy and it is us", Pogo If you compete with your fellow anglers, you become their competitor, If you help them you become their friend" Lefty Kreh " Never display your knowledge, you only share it" Lefty Kreh "Eat more bass and there will be more room for walleye to grow!"
