duckydoty Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 I've always heard snow makes it much easier to sneak up on morels when hunting them. A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners
UnCivE Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 This weather has It's been especially hard on us weekenders, 4th in a row canceled. You ain't jokin. If I'm off, the river's been blown out and it's raining cats and dogs.
ozark trout fisher Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 You ain't jokin. If I'm off, the river's been blown out and it's raining cats and dogs. It's been a lot of pond fishing for me. The creeks around here had about a 2 day window of being fishable just now-but that's sure to be done now. Oh well, that should lead to better things in the summer with a bit of luck.
BilletHead Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 More than three inches on the porch and roof. Climbed up there and had to clean off the satellite dishes so I could see the tv and have internet. Can see where the top of one of our blooming dogwoods is broken out. I cannot wait until the hummingbirds we have show up at the feeder. Wonder what they think? I know what I think but should not share it on this good place, BilletHead "We have met the enemy and it is us", Pogo   If you compete with your fellow anglers, you become their competitor, If you help them you become their friend" Lefty Kreh   " Never display your knowledge, you only share it" Lefty Kreh      "Eat more bass and there will be more room for walleye to grow!" Feathers and Fins Posted May 3, 2013 Author Posted May 3, 2013 My Bradfords are over 50 years old and are starting to get near the breaking point almost touching the ground now. I have a Cardinal nest in a bush in the back yard and momma aint leaving it no matter what I already cleaned off some of the snow from it so its not dragging so bad and she just sat there watching me. This is the same family that lets me take up close pictures I hope the eggs make it. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Old plug Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Snow would be a disaster for me. I collect hosta plants and have a yard filled with near 100 varieties. At this pint they are already to large to put covers on. A lot of them or sitting within a few feet of LOZ I hope it helps prevent any ice.
BilletHead Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Weatherman is full of crap this morning. Says in our area reports of an inch. Hummers are working the feeder feverishly. Still snowing. Wonder how much we would of had if it had not melted all night? I say crapola but will not complain about the moisture after the last two years BilletHead "We have met the enemy and it is us", Pogo   If you compete with your fellow anglers, you become their competitor, If you help them you become their friend" Lefty Kreh   " Never display your knowledge, you only share it" Lefty Kreh      "Eat more bass and there will be more room for walleye to grow!" Wayne SW/MO Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 We had a touch of sleet this morning, but if we got any snow during the night you couldn't prove it now. Just unusually cold. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Quillback Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Some snow here this morning, maybe 2" on the ground, but no accumulation on the streets. Now it's melting.
Old plug Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 I have caught really nice bass on the front side if a snow storm twice. But this is something entirely different. A lot depends on the temperature of the rain on LOZ this weekend. We are going to have two days of severe thunderstorms they say. And with a high odd 54 for sat it tells me the rain is going to be cold. I bet the temperature at the spawning level has dropped 5-10 degrees.
