rfd515 Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Man that is nice. I found this plan that I like, plus the original builder, Anna, is hot. A plus for sure. Actually, if you look around her website she has some nice, but simple plans. http://ana-white.com/2013/02/plans/casual-2x4-desk One word of caution on her plans is to compare the supplies lists to the cut lists. She'll tell you to buy 8' boards then have you cut two feet off of all of 'em.

Wayne SW/MO Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Not may places sell 8' 2 X 4's and if they do they're much more expensive then studs.. Studs are so cheap it wouldn't be smart buy anything else. Mic can save the scrap for the campfire. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
eric1978 Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 The best thing to do would be go to a hardwood dealer and buy 8/4 poplar. It won't cost that much more than SPF 2x4's from the box stores, and they won't turn into pretzels on you during and after your build. Box store lumber is for construction, not furniture, no matter how basic the project. It moves too much. And don't buy hardwoods from HD either...it's low-quality, high-priced garbage.
