I have enjoyed this thread so far because the comments are thoughtful and well intentioned. Please keep it that way and keep going.

BTW, I love to go to the Springfield store; too much, as I always spend more than I intended. On the other hand I have never bought a boat there, nor a branded product there since 2003.

Geez, I own a hurricane deck boat with seats on the fore deck with my fish finder and live well. Wife likes to sit in comfortable boat and read while I sit up front and fish. What ever works! Happy wife Happy life. Im just happy to have a boat.

Regardless of the boat any of us run (Triton here) most of us buy tackle on a regular basis. Online sales have got to be coming close to outpacing physical store sales, so it makes me scratch my head sometimes when I try to use the BPS website.

Tackle Warehouse and several others are instinctive, and easy to use and I end up spending my money there.

When I go to Outdoor World I have to get past the timeshare/Big Cedar pushers and through the clothing store before getting to the tackle section and finding that my choices are mostly some BPS brand imitation of what I am looking for. So click and deliver is how I spend my $$ now.

I'm not sure if I will ever buy another boat but, if I do, it won't be a brand new one, so it probably doesn't matter to the manufacturers.

Now that you mention it, at this point, I probably buy most of my fishin stuff online. I have many favorite small tackle shops I buy from other than the "big box"places.

Glad to hear it is not just me, with respect to the BPS website. Have panned it a few times in the surveys. With the $$$ they have to spend it seems it would be more user friendly.

Great boat! A Hurricane deck with a bit of fishing riggin' is the closest thing to an all-purpose rig I've ever run. I launched one airborne one night off a dead-center impact with a submerged tree at 35 mph. Other than minor scuffing on the keel, there was absolutely no damage, and we brought it in the shop to check it out.

As for BPS.... meh... I never lost anything there, so no reason to return. Got a bad taste years ago from a rep that wouldn't take no for an answer when he asked me to donate my wooden lure collection to the museum.

I can't dance like I used to.

Just my 2 cents but I recently purchased a 2013 Nito z7 with the Merc 150 fourstroke. I have only got to use it a total of 5 times but so far I am glad we decided to go with the Nitro. There were some features on others boats that were awesome that I wish Nitro had but overall I am very pleased with the boat. Now with that being said, we almost didn't buy one because of the sales staff. Maybe the sales person was having an off day or something but it wasn't pleasant at all. I showed up, told the person exactly what boat I wanted and what options I wanted added on and I would pick it up when it was done. We had cash in hand and was hoping for a quick deal and be done no financing, no haggling. After about the 3rd hour I eventually told my my wife lets just drive down the road and get the triton because it was taking forever and we had a screaming one year old. Thankfully she really liked the Nitro better so we stayed and eventually got the transaction completed. Now with that being said now that the purchase is complete and I am back on the water, we couldn't be more happy with the boat. And the $1000 gift card is kind of nice too. Any large company is going to have issues but I believe BP is doing a great job at supporting and changing the way we all look at hunting and fishing.

So I guess if there were two things I would recommend to BP management is 1.) For the love of all that is holy, tone down the big cedar timeshare guys at the front desk. When they ask where you are from and you say "here" let them know that I have probably heard of Big Cedar and either already go, or don't really care to go. And 2.) Maybe some training on features and options of some of the boats. I understand that there are a thousand options and a hundred different boat models, but for models they claim to be the best selling boat model like the z7, at least let there be some sort of answers to questions.

On a lighter note, who else is staring out the window at the snow wondering where May is? Just Wednesday I was sunburnt and caught several nice Smallies of beds near the State Park Marina and today I am spreading salt on my deck to keep the snow melted off!

If BPS had prices that matched Tackle Warehouse and free shipping at $50 I'd probably buy a lot more stuff from BPS. BPS does a better job, IMO, of keeping stuff in stock. I've gone to TW's site quite a few times to buy something only to find out it is out of stock, they do have a good backorder policy, TW that is, but usually when I'm buying something I want it NOW. TW also has a wider range of products when it comes to bass stuff, and does a better job of getting new products on the shelves.

Bass Pro is what it is just like Gander Mountain, Cabelas, And academy sports. You can find experts on the lateststyle of underware and clothes. When comes to fishing stuff, you would be hard pressed to find anyone with any knowledge of fishing gear and tackle. I do know a little but am way short of being an authority on fishing. Most of what I have learned has come from trail and error and websites like these that educate me. Just saying it would be nice to go into a store and be able to explain what your looking for and get sound advise that you can trust. Hey, its there store so they can run it like they want. I just think we already have enough clothing stores.
