Where might a person buy the z man zinkerz?

Tackle Warehouse, but BPS and Sportsman's in Springfield both have the Strike King Zero. It is the same bait, made by Zman for both companies. All of the Strike King "super plastic" is made by Zman for sale under the SK label.

Dave..Do you know if the worm nose jig mold ( the one without the collar) would accept a small hook such as a # 4 or 2 ?

Thanks.

Dolph, sorry to be slow getting back. Took an internet free weekend. Yes, that is the mold, and yes, it will take a #2 in most of the cavities. It will take a #4 in the 1/16, and probably the 1/8, but you will start to run into issues on the bigger heads. I've tried a variety of #4 hooks...Owner, Mustad, 570's, Gammies...keep circling back to either a #2 or a #1. Anything bigger is too much for my taste, smaller really is not a benefit over a #4 on the small end of things.

Keep in mind there is some variation in spec's among the various brands. I try to compare everything to a 570, as it is still kind of a gold standard jig hook. Gammies run small, Mustads tend to have a longer leg, Owners are pretty true to the 570 footprint. There are some other good ones...Daiichi, Sohumi.

Hope that helps, if not shoot me a PM or follow up.

I got mine from Jannsnetcraft.com. Great little jighead. I like the 1/4oz size that is also in that mold for my swing impacts also.

Thanks Blue basser. Do you use the 1/16the head very much? What do you think of it?

The 1/16oz is the bread and butter of the entire system. Will do some of what the 1/32 will, still has a slower fall than the 3/32 or 1/8, and will (with patience) fish out to 20'. Deeper than that you need the bigger head, but keep in mind it is a system built around shallow fish, and the idea that some fish are always in less than 15' of water. When we fish it deeper at TR, it is more due to unusual conditions, or for the sake of going exploring.

That 1/4oz from either of the worm nose molds is a nice grub head with a 3/0 Gamak or Sickle. Buts up nicely against the flat head of most single tail grubs, and gives you more surface to glue them to.
