Quillback Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 I agree it's not a good effort at explaining a complex process.
bfishn Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Ultra clear water is a thing of beauty, but it doesn't produce fish. Unless a decent bloom occurs in time (which it should), any fry that hatch in the super clear will be short-lived. I can't dance like I used to.
denjac Posted May 6, 2013 Author Posted May 6, 2013 I know at our campground they spent around ten grand last winter updating the sewer filtration system. It was compliant as it was but we voted to stay ahead of the game and make it better. Now if us humans can stop using the phosphate based soaps. We are brainwashed that if there is no suds its not cleaning properly. AmWay, (and no I dont sell amway) , sells some of the best phosphate free soaps in the world. Dennis Boothe Joplin Mo. bfishn Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Is anyone seeing large schools of shad in the clearest water? I can't dance like I used to.

Members BiteMeBaits Posted May 7, 2013 Members Posted May 7, 2013 We went out of State Park a week ago and fished in water that was very clear. We saw a ton of shad ranging from 3-8 inches running the banks and into about 10 ft of water! Nothing chasing though.
dblades Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 I've seen large schools of shad and large Gizzard shad schools.
merc1997 Bo Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 it seems that many of you do not remember table rock of old. visibility in the dam area used to be 30ft. anytime. the upper end around eagle rock, 15ft plus was the norm. we have high water for so long without a normal winter draw down that we have had much more color in the water. when the water stayed so high so long, there was a lot of brush decaying. that in itself contributes to more water tint. if the water stays as clear as it has been so far, i am anticipating some night fishing like we used to have. we have so much color in the water that fish have fed much more readily during the day, and not so much at night. the year has been pretty good for big bass at night so far. bo
Sprint21fter Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Is the night bite better from 2am-sunrise right now? Just curious. Haven't had great luck from sunset-1am.
