The point of this tournament is to raise money for the chamber to promote Rogers as a place to live, work and start a business.

Ok stump and if all of the sudden (and hog im sure can correct me if im wrong ) Say it was discovered the winners were cheating wouldn't that be FELONY FRAUD! That sure wouldn't make the community look good at all. The Chambers job may very well not to run tournaments you can argue but I have an argument back. With BASS FLW and so many other tournaments out there and their rules so readily available why not use them? The only answer I can think of for not putting in the most simplistic of rules to insure fair play is The Chamber Does Not Care! If that's the case then perhaps its time they get out of it period.

No one is condoning anyone cheating...simply saying the tournament is what it is. And just because the prize is a boat doesn't make the format/spirit of the tournament something else. By the way: everyone knows or at least SHOULD know that there are not livewell check/ect before hand. So it isn't like anyone should be surprised at the format. The chamber obviously doesn't have or doesn't want to expend the resources necessary to put more rules in place- they don't need to. If it is too loose for people (and I can totally see where it could be) then they can fish another tournament. Its not like there aren't plenty of other choices.

The disturbing thing about the thread is the guilty until proven innocent mindset that seems to be running through it. You do a google search on these guys and this is one of the top results now. Seems to be a lotta hearsay and rumor with ZERO facts and dragging the names of two people through the mud. If I ever need a jury remind me not to invite you guys;) Just sayin....

Heh Ive said all along show me the proof. I am more upset that a tournament in this day and age with so many resources isn't using them to make dam certain it is fair for all. Just the specter of cheating is harmful. Ray Scotts biggest fear at the first tournament ( Beaver Lake Arkansas ) BTW was cheating. The home of fair play started at Beaver and those that know the history surely would want that to be one of its legacy's. Its a disservice to the community to NOT insure it.

Anybody else see the article from the MDC that was about a guy who was turkey hunting in the woods next to a cove at Mark Twain on a Friday. This was a few years ago.

While he was sitting in the woods completely in camo, two guys showed up in a bass boat and tied up next to a tree in the cove. Then they pulled out a fish basket and tied it to the tree and then pulled 3 nice bass out of their live well and put them in the basket and then let the whole thing sink down out of site.

The guy in camo apparently thought that seemed like a good way to cheat at a bass tournament so he call the local MDC office to tell them what he saw.

They ended up finding the basket and marking the fish somehow and videotaped the whole thing. The next day when the two guys ended up winning the tournament, they check for the fish, found them and the two dudes were arrested in front of everyone for fraud.

I know them both. Gary Bundy is an amazing bed fisherman. People do not like him because for lack if better words he is a darn good fisherman. I do not k ow him extremely well but he has been winning for a long time and never once has anything ever concrete came up about him cheating. I remember the first day Bull Shoals went from a 10 fish limit to a 6 fish limit. Fished against and beat him with my Grandfather in the Yukon Jack Tournament. He fished by himself and came in second. We were fishing the same water and no cheating was involved. I don't k ow him the best but I do not believe him to be a cheater.

I know John Hagood much better and the guy is an honest good fella. He does extremely well sometimes, and other days he sucks just like you and I. The guy ain't a cheater and I would welcome him in my boat anytime.

Take it for what it is worth but I believe Bundy to be the beat bed fisherman in the area. He know Beaver extremely well and is hard to beat around the spawn. If anyone would know the area 22lbs of largemouth would be this time of year on Beaver it would be him. If they pass the poly leave them the heck alone unless you saw the cheating with your own eyes.

If you win enough, you are declared a cheater. It's just how it works.

Easy there, there are a few on this forum that would rather just condemn... a few months ago their was a post that condemned a very respected guide in South America because of a mis-conmunication.... Turned out he is "well respected" as a guide but he would have been condemned, (actually was) if it hadn't been for some in depth checking.... It's the internet, I have seen a lot of people trash or get trashed on these types of forums....
