Global cooling again tonight and tomorrow night. Had to put a jacket on to drink a beer with the neighbor tonight. Kinda nipply.

Go back and look at the picture I posted of an extreme pollution day in China ( personally took the picture and can attest to how bad it was/is). do you really think this is not harming or speeding up global warming??? keep in mind out of almost two years in China I only saw "blue" skies aobut 10 times. Even travelling out of the "cities" to remote areas doesn't guarantee a pollution free environment. I am not sure that we can screw up the Ozone enough for it to have a truly negative effect on my Great Grand Kids (I don't even have Grandkids yet) but I am pretty sure that we are screwing it up at an alarming rate and what could have lasted millions more years might only last a few hundred thousand years... If you preach C&R how can you not comprehend conservation????

Maybe we should send Al Gore to China? But seriously, I believe I saw that China has passed us as far as being the number 1 pumper of CO2 into the atmosphere.

Funny, I was watching the news yesterday and they were talking about lessoning the funding for climate research to force more work done on storm prediction. Heard a few scientist that were more than upset about it as it took ( WAIT FOR IT-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------> Money from their budget ) Sorry guys and gals and all the boats at sea. But there is the root of all evil right there!

This subject is so political its pathetic and I mean that sincerely as it shouldn't be but because of politics and the funding it is and as honorable as people might be trying to be its really not in their funding's interest to go against the grain.

Sounded like yours

No idea how you connected any dots there. I think you're making up dots.

I said it in an earlier post, but will reiterate.....every topic of any importance in this world (and especially anything that has to do with conservation) cannot be seperated from politics. But this is an environmental issue. No more inherently political than whether someone is going to put a dam in on your favorite stream, or whether the length limit on bass should be raised from 12 to 15 inches. They are all inherently scientific matters, but the methods of actually being able to do anything about them do involve politics.

The GW debate is far more political than the other things you mention because so much power and money is at stake.

Doesn't mean they don't pertain to us, and it doesn't mean that all discussion about them should be silenced.

I didn't say it should be. Only that you cannot have any meaningful discussion about GW w/o involving politcs.

One of the funny things I've seen over and over in the 100's of discussions I've been in about GW on the internet is folks in the "sky is falling camp" often claim anyone who is not in their camp is all for creating more pollution, relaxing pollution controls, etc. Nothing could be further from the truth in almost every case. But folks have this black/white mentality at times.

It's sad what China is doing to their country in the rush to become a global economic powerhouse. We were there once also though, as a younger nation. Hopefully they will reign it in sooner rather than later. But I personally do not believe it causes any additional "climate change".

I wish. I miss having a man of integrity in the White House. Hell, Clinton had more integrity than the child king we have in there now.
