LarrySTL
Bobby Barrack's Perfect Frog and cut about 1/4 or 3/8 of an inch off the skirt. 50 or 65 lb Power Pro, tied direct to the frog. If you want to see things better and the water has any kind of color to it, or if you are fishing in any kind of froggish glop, the bright yellow PP will let you track things way better and doesnt seem to slow the bass down any. The tiniest little WTD twitches you can make with your rod tip down. Try to make it walk side to side rather than move forward. Yes it will come toward you, but thats OK. http://intervenehere.com
aarchdale@coresleep.com
I agree with mr Andrews, i have tried a lot of frogs and for the price its hard to beat the academy house brand, seems like the hold up well, i fish springfield lake a lot with frogs too, it a blast i havent went down to a smaller size yet but i think i will try that, i had 10 blow ups yesterday and only got three in, one nice one that was a little over 17, not bad for that lake...I put him back so he can eat your frog next
hoglaw
Someone may have posted this, but on all the Spro frogs, I find I need to bend the hooks out away from the body ever so slightly. That really helps increase the hook-up rate. Even on a good bite with a full take, sometimes the hooks don't clear the body I guess....so bend them out a hair (which is not easy to do). I second the horny toad. If you use a light guage hook it will let you run it a lot slower, and even kill it without taking too long to get back on plane. WakenLake
Use some pliers and bend the hooks back a little bit. It makes it less weedless but youll hook up more. www.jordanvalleyautorepair.com
moguy1973
This is what you need. It's a hollow body frog trailer hook made by lake fork. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Lake_Fork_Frog_Tail_Hook_2pk/descpage-LFFGHOOK.html -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson

John Andrews
As I am getting mrore frog time under my belt My hook up's are great. One a good day I might miss 1 out of every 10 since I switched to the smaller frogs, it dang near a fish every strike. I only see those trailer hooks a more of a snag risk. Using smaller bodied frogs and adjusting my hookset has worked great. How I set a frog hook goes like this. Once the bass strikes I count 1-2-3 and on 3 set the hook HARD. When I say hard I dont mean like I am trying to kill a grizzly bear by whipping him to death with a fishing rod hard. Use some commen sense here. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART--------> ONCE YOU SET THE HOOK, HOLD THE ROD THE END OF YOUR HOOKSET let the fish pull those hooks in deeper. Do this for only a second or two UNLESS YOU FEEL THE TENSION GO LIMP. This means the fish is running towards you DROP THE ROD TIP WHILE REELING LIKE MAD. Unless your in heavy cover, let the fish wear themself out before landing it. This is wear I screwed up and lost that big one. Theres my 2 cents worth
