Well the hunt for Dr. Evil continues. I hit the lake at just after 4 am. caught a 15 incher the first cast. TODAY THE TOP WATER ACTION WAS ON FIRE!!!!! Caught 12 total. They ranged from just under 10 inches to the best one 18 inches. When he hit I thought I had my long saught after Dr. Evil. NOPE. Met another forum member on my way back to my rig. Forgot the name but a dang nice guy.

Today the frogs were hot until sunrise. At sunup the Heddon black and silver torpedo was what they wanted. Sad part is, even though I caught 12 I missed more strikes than landed. MY BEST DAY EVER AT SPRINGFIELD LAKE In at 4 am out at 9:30. I'll be back out Sat. unless the wife wants to fish up at Crieghton access. Hmmm fly fishing for smallies up there might be a good time.

I would say your Dr Evil might be a good piece from where you caught him before are else his or her feeding pattern has changed. I would not look in the same area if there has been a temperature or weather change. It might come back when the conditions are the same but I would not bet on it.

I have read studies that tracked bass really don't move as much as you might think, that they have a particular range- and that's where 'they be'... I tend to agree with it, if memory serves I think it said they stayed in roughly a 100 yd by 100 yd area in reservoirs.. But who knows..

Yeah I do roam about but always hit that area just incase

DR. Evil ( I assume ) made another visit today. I was out at 4:30 am. after a few hours, I was about 50 yards from where I had him hooked. WHAM the water exploded. He hit the lure so hard, he cleared the water by a foot. Stayed there for another 30 minutes. I couldnt get him to hit again. SOMEDAY :yuush:

You don't want to do Dr Evil in. If now one pulls him and you get his number you can keep hanging his replica on the wall after every pound gain.

I think you're right about the motors, electrics would probably work fine and they could allow 225's, as long as they were up!

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

My idea for Dr. Evil was to get get some quick pics, length and weight and have a replica done. When it comes down to it, I dont think I could kill 'em just for a wall hanging. I release all my bass, in hopes of meeting them again. There are so many people out there keeping 'em these days, I wonder how the population can ever thrive.
