There is still a shallow bite if you can do that. As Dave said, I believe the Ned or the best for me is a rig bite in front of the bushes or thru some timbered pockets, very early and keeping in the shade. Have also heard of a dock bite on the shady side.

I probably should have thrown the shaky abit as my guy was having a hard time with the rig. It is a process to fish that light of a drag system if you have not done it. I bet the straight line would have done him better.

I'll put that in the cold storage and remember it next time.

If our Springfield folks are not Sportsman's customers they are missing out. Good selection, good prices (had 20% off zoom baits today), and Jim is a solid guy.

Made a stop in there on my way down last time in May. Nice shop and if they don't have it you probably don't need it. Good selection of GYCB too if that's your cup of tea. I have bought 4 Lews Speed Spools within the last year and a half or so and just brought the reel boxes with me to see if they would give me the promotion of free shirts and apparel that they advertise. They were super nice and gave me 2 Lews tee shirts and a hat. Will be back in there if I ever need to pick up anything again on the way down. Nice store and nice guys. Plus love me some Lew's.

Sportsmans. Would like to use them but the are not open on the weekends and I cant get there before they close during the week. Also they dont have a website. So I have to go elsewhere.
