Jack Jones Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 It is incredibly reprehensible what he is doing. That said, let's all put away the pitchforks and nooses. Mob action is never a good solution. Just ask your average Egyptian tonight........ "Thanks to Mother Mercy, Thanks to Brother Wine, Another night is over and we're walking down the line" - David Mallett
John Andrews Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 i am afraid of what I would do if I ever seen him in the act.

cwc87 Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Facts are facts. The guy has a gig in a smallmouth plus it has a MDC tag in it. Illegal as you can get. These fish are no doubt are some that I have caught and released over the years!! It just makes me sick that a individual can do this and GETAWAY with it!!! Plus if given a ticket it would only be a slap on the wrist. Makes you really wonder how much of this happens?????
Brian Jones Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 The only thing I'm surprised about is that everyone is surprised that this ACTUALLY happens and that LAW ENFORCEMENT officials do NOTHING about it. Can you imagine if this dude was posing with an illegally harvested B&C buck? SWAT would already be at his house and have everything he owns confiscated.
ozark trout fisher Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 I'm not sure anyone's shocked that this goes on.Most of us have caught too many gig-marked smallies already for that to be the case. Still, seeing a picture of that many smallies (and other species) lined up like that still pulls at the heart-strings of any angler worth their salt. It makes me physically sick to look at, honestly.
Al Agnew Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 It doesn't bother me quite as much that he's doing that, because I already knew that stuff like that is being done a lot. It bothers the heck out of me that he's so proud of it that he wanted to post it on Facebook. What that really means is that he's probably one of a "ring" of people doing the same thing, and he's wanting to brag to his friends. It doesn't surprise me too much that MDC's line is that they can't do anything about him at this point, but I really hope that they are now not only aware of him, but are also aware of all his Facebook friends. I'm telling you guys...the Smallmouth Alliance's goal of "world class smallmouth fishing" could be reached in this state if it was possible to put a stop to this stuff (including the illegal gigging), and it will never be reached because it apparently isn't possible to put a stop to it. By world class, I'm saying that these rivers could produce three or four times the number of 18-20+ inch smallmouth they do if it wasn't for stuff like this.
LittleRedFisherman Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Absolutely Disgusting. Hope he gets what's coming to him. Smalliebigs, if you need backup, i'm there! There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!
