Members Scott Keling Posted July 21, 2013 Members Posted July 21, 2013 I've been thinking about making some home made fish attractors out of tile pipe and PVC pipe. Like the moss back fish attractors. Anybody have any experience with them. Do they attract fish?
Ham Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Do what you're gonna do, but I don't think that is kosher with the COE. I'm sure they would hold fish. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Lancer09 Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 I made some a few years back. Just get a few 2 1/2 gallon buckets. Cut the rims off so you can't snag on the lips of the bucket. Fill it with quickrete and stick some different sizes of pvc pipes in of varying lengths.
lonkm Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Be sure you get a permit. I ca..ed the Corp last year and they told me you have to have a permit. They allow beds and brush piles every other year.
laker67 Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 not even close to being as effective as cedar brush, but they are simple and easy and will hold a few fish in a year or two. My cedar outfishes the pvc 10 to one, located on the same dock in the same depth of water.

This is a corp. lake and putting in underwater obstructions is a mighty different animal to putting them in on a private lake. Good Luck and please send GPS cords of the locations http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Feathers and Fins Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Best I have heard of is a guy going door to door at Christmas and having his neighbors donate the trees to him. He got CORP OK and put them out. I HAVE GPS BILL but it will cost you a drive over here for me to show you where. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Members Scott Keling Posted July 23, 2013 Author Members Posted July 23, 2013 No need for any permits, we were putting them in a private lake. And cedar may be better at some things but we were going for the snag prof aspect of the PVC. Thanks for the info
