gitnby Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Just got a new Garmin echo as a gift and will move my Eagle 480 to the console. Currently have an older (1990's?) Eagle 7200 that works great. It has a small crack in the front plastic retainer, which I may try gluing together, but the screen is good and it is air and water tight and easy to read. Has backlight and several advanced functions that I never used. Keeping the Johnny Ray mount, but I do have the basic U-bracket that holds it. Will pull the old transducer and power cord and re-route the new one this weekend. It has the puck-type that can be mounted thru-hull or on TM. So, by Sunday sometime, I should have it available. I could sell it, I guess, but doubt it would bring much. Like the trolling motor I gave away earlier this year, I'd rather see it get used by a forum member who needs it. I'm down Joe Bald by land, near 13 bridge by water. I'll defer to the moderators to recommend a fair way to determine who gets it. Maybe a Table Rock trivia contest? 1.Who can tell me the name of the long-time business establishment that was at the SE corner of 13 and DD? 2. What is Spank's (of Spank's Gentlemen's Club Fame) real name? 3. What was the the original name of the town of Branson West?
motoman Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 What the heck?!??!........I've been watching this thread and no guesses? - I thought it was a cool idea! - 1. I think it's a bank now, but for the life of me; I don't recall what it was.:-( - 2. And I'll have to guess Carl - Maybe some of those that 'claim' they live down by the lake will chime in!.........unless they're..........CHICKEN!!!........balk, balk, balk.:-P
gitnby Posted July 24, 2013 Author Posted July 24, 2013 1. The bank is on the other side of 13. The SE corner is now an office building. But, for many years, it was a popular place! 2. It's not Carl! I'll add a third, much easier question. 3. What was the the original name of the town of Branson West?

Ray's Market is CORRECT! It was a 'convenience store' before there were convenience stores. 2. keep trying! 3. Correct! Quite a marketing move by the City Fathers.
ozarkgunner Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 I remember rays and lakeview. I also remember Dinkies! Angler At Law
Flysmallie Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 3. Correct! Quite a marketing move by the City Fathers. Did it really benefit anything? I still wish it was Lakeview.
gitnby Posted July 24, 2013 Author Posted July 24, 2013 It allowed several businesses (resorts, restaurants, etc) to use Branson West as their address, which implied proximity to the booming town of Branson. I remember Branson was quite upset about it! Might have even been some attempted legal action?

I'll PM him to see if he wants the depthfinder. If not, then I'd like to find someone who could use it. Suggestions?
