On The Fly 6 Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 I'd like to visit arrowhead when they play the Chargers! Ham Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 I'd love for the Chiefs to make a deep run in the playoffs. 9-7 sure would be a breath of fresh air though. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Quillback Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 I'm hoping that their record is at least good enough that they'll be playing meaningful games late in the season. You never know, but I'd be more confident if they had a solid QB.
Wayne SW/MO Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 The Chiefs have a real coach now, if he can do what he wants to do, in the next 2 or 3 years they will be legitimate again. I think that's the real mystery. He was fired, but he has record that the Chiefs can sure use. Why he was fired is probably what will determine a lot of what he does with the Chiefs. I have no idea, just saying if he's tired of coaching he won't do us much good. If Philly just thought they needed a change to excite the fans then we can use their loss for our gain. Mistakes are made sometimes in drafting and good players don't work out for many reasons and it doesn't take many overpaid players to drag a team below their potential. I though Bowe's fall off was triggered in part, if not all, by the inability of Cassel to hit him without his having to stop and take a hit on crossing patterns. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Quillback Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 Cassel stunk, no doubt about it. If Smith can get the ball to Bowe, good things could happen. I seem to remember hearing commentary that Smith could not hit WR Michael Crabtree on long routes in while playing in SF. That concerns me.
Lancer09 Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 10-6 book it. The d has been sharp in training camp and smith is starting to gel with his receivers. Our te depth is just silly, the one possible cut may make the team just so we don't have to put him on ps squad where another team could grab him (Demetrius Harris, a former b ball player, sound familiar?) We have actual real competition at wr and a lot of smaller names are really making a name for them selves like Richardson, Hemingway, and Wylie. Dex has also been good and been connecting DEEP with smith more than once.
Lancer09 Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Chargers are VERY overlooked this year I think, especially if Rivers gets his Mojo back... Oh, doubtful. I think Phyllis is past his prime, or his deficiencies were masked by a then significantly healthier Antonio gates.
dennis boatman Posted July 31, 2013 Author Posted July 31, 2013 Broncos 10-6 Chiefs 7-9 Chargers 7-9 Raiders 6-10 I'll have an All AFC West fantasy team. We'll see how that works out. A strike indicator is just a bobber...
Flysmallie Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 I tend to agree more with Lancer. If they start with a good win in Jax and look somewhat like a real team then Arrowhead will be crazy when Dallas comes to town. If they can start off good then KC will be a very hostile place to play. But if they don't win in Jax it may be a long year.
Lancer09 Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 I just don't see how they don't win in Jax. Let's face it, the chiefs O line last year was not one of the main problems, and they are nearly all coming back. Albert is in a contract year and should be looking to prove something. Jeff Allen has competition at LG and Asamoah is a pro bowl caliber RT. Once Fisher gets his blitz pickups down he SHOULD be a stud. Put JC or Dex in space and they can run for days. Unfortunately for us, we don't get Denver when Von is out, but oh well. Hopefully Dumervil has a hayday against Manning. I think Denver overpaid for Clady, and they are on like their fourth string center. It's funny how Denver fans point out how "elite" Clady is and only gave up one sack... It was to Hali, who gets held EVERY FREAKING PLAY IMAGINABLE. Denver 11-5 KC 10-6 SD 5-11 Oakland 3-13 If Indy can go from a two win team to a ten win team, with less talent than this squad has, we can too.
