Forget the spoons. Not many people fish this lake for eyes. Correct there are BIG eyes all over this lake. Over 20 lbs. I believe if someone would drift crawlers off the flats where the drop off is they might be shocked how many they get. Lazy I do not want to screw with crawlers I troll and pick up a few eyes Good luck let us know how you do.

I wouldn't be so quick to say "forget" anything that rps advises. He has probably caught more and bigger walleye from The Rock than about anyone. He targets them and knows from whence he speaks.

Is tipping the spoon with a crawler or minnow a good idea.?

For me and I cannot speak for RPS the way I fish the spoon it is very hard to keep a crawler on it. I personally lower it either to the bottom or thru the fish and then elevate it with a swift jerk about head high. I then follow the line back to the desired depth, I usually don't let it fall on a completely slack line, but some do.

Maybe these guys can remember but I can't how many walleye my clients caught last August thru September on a Cabela's jigging spoon, but the numbers were very impressive. 90 +% released back for your pleasure.

RPS, Powerdive and others here are way better than I, but I will fish that spoon everyday at some point, now thru October. As far as Fishing Crawlers on main lake roll-offs and flats, that might have been done here a time or two. "Ya Think."

Good Luck

That would be a Great Big Plus 1. I know he loves topwater bass, but just the shear amount of hours he spends looking at his electronics and researching Table Rock Lake Walleye is without equal. I truly believe they are his favorite and the proof is in the numbers.

To say to forget anything he says is like saying Carols Santana can't play a guitar.

Better take heed. Good Luck

I blush. Thank you. And no, don't bother to tip the spoon. Fish it exactly as Bill described.

Wow fellas, major props to Mr. Babler, Champ and rps for really coming through with quality feedback. I'm majorly impressed and appreciative for all of the folks to chimed in with their experience on this topic.

On a side note, should I be particular about getting on the lake really early?

Thanks gentlemen!

Hey rps! Good to hear from you buddy! Well that is semi good news. I say that because I have close to a dozen War Eagles. Too bad they're not spoons. They're spinner baits. Oh well, guess I'll hit the guys up at Fin & Feather tomorrow. I'm sure they'll be accomodating. The plan is to head near the dam, out of Moonshine Beach unless you can suggest something closer to Kimberling City. Thanks friend!

They have War Eagle spoons at Fin & Feather and so I may have to go with those. Cabela's is no where near here and they take 6 days in shipping. I have friend a short distance from the one in N. AR. but they are away on an anniversary trip.

I really like the War Eagle spoons. The built in swivel helps line twist and the stock hooks are better than the Cabelas - although if you change out to death traps that does not matter.

Check out the cole slaw color.
