Well what's the hold up? Can't you catch a dang crappie for Pete sake? :D

Good points on those plastic POS things, really. Anyone that actually uses THOSE truly should consider your product.

I place a stick in the ground and position my arms at 45 degree angles towards the sun. Lay the crappie at the base of the stick. The outline of the fish will show in relation to the shadow of the stick. Biggest crappie I've caught was on June 21st a little past 8:40 this summer. A dang nice 7 footer.

Glad to see you come back and defend your product, but to see it in action will be good.

Until then I'll stick with my plastic POS, works well unless you're an uncoordinated dork. :D

I have nothing in any of this. If i catch a crappie I'm not going to measure it anyway. Just dump it back in the lake.

But I do have to ask a question. What is the benefit of being able to measure without removing the hook? Not trying to be a smart a.., I just don't understand the benefit. The way I see it I'm going to have to remove the hook one way or another at some point.

Ronnie, some folks freak at the thought of touching a fish. Yeah I know what you're thinking, but to look at it another way...

I could totally get into hunting monkeys with high powered rifles (or a bow, or just about anything really) if I never had to touch one of the freaky little bastages.

Good point, get the hook out, then measure.

The hold up on this product is the fact that I have three jobs aside of this tackle business. I am a special ed teacher, a park ranger on weekends, and have a landscaping business. Geeze I never have time to relax. Another benefit of this product is that it is very beneficial to individuals with handicaps. They can do all of this from their wheelchair without having to touch the fish. It's very neat. A guy actually wrote an article about it that you should check out. http://disabledcyclist.com/is-it-too-hot-to-ride-your-bike-relax-and-go-fishing/

Just curious. If it works on all fish, why did you settle on "crappie cradle" for a name?

Good question, I could see this being something you could market to bass fishermen also, I've watched many a tourney on TV where those guys are measuring bass.

I actually designing a measure for walleye/smallmouth/and largemouth. I will make different names for them. I just figured you see a lot of crappie measures out there and they are all made of plastic. I believe that a walleye/bass measure would work great. it would look similar but it would have a 15", 16", 17", and 18" mark on it and it would have to be a little wider. The only problem is that these measures cost me $9 a piece just to have them laser cut out. I weld, grind, sand, prime, and paint all on my own. Individually I have roughly $11-$13 in each of these. That explains the 19.99 price plus shipping which comes to the 25.99. Any thoughts or opinions on anything?
