Quillback Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 New bait from Strike King, runs in that 8 - 10 foot range. No craw colors however. Just wondering if it will work during Wiggle Wart season. Need the opinion of you crankers out there. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Strike_King_KVD_HC_Flat_Side_Crankbait/descpage-SKKVDFS.html
Sprint21fter Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 If they would make that in the ghost craw or natural craw that they make in the series five cranks it would catch plenty of fish during the wiggle wart season. Don't know if it will catch big stringers that the warts produce during that time.
RSBreth Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 Try the Series 3 XD - sometimes it IS better then the 'Wart.http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Strike_King_Pro_Model_3XD_Crankbaits/descpage-SK3XD.html I've caught all three Black Bass species on it, and a couple of bonus Walleye's, too.
Mitch f Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 Dittos on the 3 XD, love that bait. I still love the Wart but when I need an extra 2 ft I'll go with the 3XD "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
MOsmallies Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 March is the main month I believe, but Feb-April. And the fall oct-early dec is pretty good too. Mainly when the water temps get in the high 40's to low 50's
fishinwrench Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 Nothing made (yet) can surpass the effectiveness of a WW in the right hands during "crawdad waking-up season".
Pepe Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 Dittos on the 3 XD, love that bait. I still love the Wart but when I need an extra 2 ft I'll go with the 3XD That Rootbeer color looks good. What is favorite color(s) for the 3 XD here on the Rock?
