Old plug Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Well hell I done it tonight First photo is of the clete. Note the center hole.i made j bolt that bolts the board down on these two rear cleats. Second photo is of the rownrigger stand bolted to the clete. . The black thing is a base that comes with my down rigger to make it easier to take it off and on. Third photo is if the down rigger installed and raised and secured with a strap. Last photo would be how it would be if it was out trolling.
zarraspook Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Looks like SMART way to go.. for someone who don't use down rigs 90% of the time...You gave me a idea to try on my boat !!!!! Thanks "Look up OPTIMIST in the dictionary - there is a picture of a fishing boat being launched"

Members LarryC Posted August 27, 2013 Members Posted August 27, 2013 My Starcraft. Equipped with two Cannon down riggers. I had a Scotty that I imported from my old Lund for a while, but the crank was awkward to use on the Starcraft so it got replaced with a Cannon. With the wireless Minnkota Terova trolling motor down rigging is easy even when I’m out by myself. I’ll stack on the riggers so I can run four rods there and another four rods off planer boards. When I have a partner we put out a lot more rods. Of course this is for stripers. Only two rods out for walleye. The riggers sure make it fast to vary lure depth. Making Beaver Lake safe for all the little fish...one striper at a time.
wc1063 Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 I had a Bayliner boat about 25 years ago, and I really do wish they are making better boats now!!
David Unnerstall Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 The old boat was a 1972 Quachita. Here it is on Mark Twain Lake. It had stick steering but I manufactured the console after I bought the 75-horse Chrysler. I had to abandon the boat -- the transom rotted and the floor was water soaked. The cap did not separate from the hull. It broke my heart. But I was able to find the boat of my dreams in Chicago, last year. A 1979 Chrysler Fin and Fun.
J-Doc Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Yep, all of the modified tri-hulls of the late 70"s had that arrowhead like point. Looks like your motor has been restored as well. Looks clean.
