fishinwrench Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 Lol!!! So I think its safe to say we all want more picks of your project boat. Or at least a video of the test run on the water. :-) Arrrggh! Don't make me go there The Lone Star ride and handling is a bit of a disappointment. It takes choppy water ALMOST as gracefully as my Lowe Olympic. In other words....It'll shake your teeth loose. The hull looks straight but the boat handles like it has a severe reverse rocker. The best tune I could achieve on the Big Twin still wouldn't pull a sick Ho out of bed, much less pop a skier up, even after reasonable prop swapping. Pro's: It LOOKS really cool, and the HORN is impressive.
J-Doc Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 Well, it has a flat bottom and the motor is a bit small for a skier. Hey.......she looks good though!! One would have to fly an American flag on it, where a Captains Hat with an ascot and talk like Thurston Howell III from Gilligan's island!! "Oh Lovey! Let's DO take a ride on the boat SHALL we?" LMAO!! Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
J-Doc Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 I have a trumpet horn from a Freightliner. About 24" long. I keep saying I'm going to mount it on the Cutter so I can get the wakers attention before giving them the universal approval symbolagle. Lol! I'd need a serious air compressor motor and storage tank that would hold 150psi to blast it like a big rig. (Insert evil grin here) Need marine repair? LMAO!! Lovey had better hang on to her boobs or she'll get a black eye. Now that I think of it maybe those old LS's were designed that way on purpose. But yeah that's gonna be my move from this point forward. When I got a boat that's a real POS and I can't feesably improve on it... I'll just slap a BADASS HORN on it and call it a day!
Wayne SW/MO Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 That ain't likely to happen Wrench. Drill a hole, push nozzle through hole, pull trigger until you see foam creeping out, plug hole and go to next boat. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Njarder I wouldn't worry too much about modern carpet, it will hold it's color and look longer than all the plastic. There's nothing better than 303 ,IMO, for that. It isn't as cheap as many others, but than it doesn't give you cheap results either. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
