Love them they fly like a field point so no correction needed from the Target to the field been using them 4 years now and never a problem.

+1.

Used a muzzy knock off bps brand 3 seasons ago and they sucked. After tunning I lost two does in 1 weekend. Found both the weekend after from the smell.

After the last two seasons I've become a 2 blade Rage fan. I still shoot my 3 blade Muzzy 100's through the blind mesh, and I think they will always be my reliable back up. Just love the lethality of the rages from the tree, lots of blood and very little tracking. As with anything shot placement beats the best broadhead any day. Honestly though you are slighly more motivated than me, I cant seem to light a fire under my butt to get out and shoot in this darn heat. Good luck!

Am I ready? No. Will I go? Yes when it cools off some, more than some, cools off a bunch. This will be my 37th year going. My most uncomfortable most likely. Why? We will get there but first I only hunted the first couple of years with a compound, then laminated recurves and longbows. Then graduated to self bows out of hedge. The last years of the self bow 17 years. Have taken 7 deer with stone heads I knapped. I take it back 8 years back I did a season with a 45 lb. recurve after my rotator cuff surgery. Time and wear and tear takes its toll. Struggled with a 50 lb. self bow last season. Shoulder going bad again, well it never got the best but it is bad again. Surgeon said bad arthritis in there when he fixed me up. Never going to be the best. So I deal with it. Tried to shoot my favorite, I was all over the place and never getting to full draw. I was sick over it. Asked some compound questions to friends but really did not want to go there. Finally got out my vintage black widow. Got it from my close fishing friend. Got it the year of my shoulder surgery. Out of the blue he tells me he has a black widow from the early 60s 45@ 28". I about go bonkers. We made a trade and I got it. Killed a deer that year also. I strung it up, pulled back. They shoot a bit different than a long bow. First shots low and right. Took me a few to get lined up and at ten yards I'm grouping again. So here is to a good season for you all and may you have the best of luck. Do it while you can because time will take its toll. Mrs. BilletHead will be going too with her Martin Bobcat, over 20 years old. Here is what I will be using this season,

I will be adding some no mar bow tape to the limbs. I would get the spray paint out but on this gem better not.

Broadheads of choice zwicky Eskimos 2 blade. I have a set of files, diamond hone and leather strop. Can get them surgically sharp. Good old wood shafting too with some of my turkey feathers. Hand split, ground, dyed and chopped.

Well because of my health I won't be able to go until next year. But before I came to this shape I bought half dozen Gold Tip Bolts and 125Gr. Spitfires.

BilletHead -- I don't even know what the heck you're talking about, but that stuff looks pretty cool. Last I shot was Scout camp.

Scott the arrows are chundoo pine. Got a hundred shafts a long time ago and these I made up with what I had left. The shafts are dyed with rit and denatured alcohol mix. You Mr. Snake man should know RED TOUCH YELLOW KILL A FELLOW. Coral snake colors. Cheesy I know but wanted to dye the shafts and I bet no one else has any like these :) Feathers dyed with rit also. After stripping and grinding feathers put them in warm water that has some dish soap in it. Doesn't take much and swish them around. Don't even rinse of the soapy water. Put them in hot rit dye that has some vinegar mixed in. This will allow the dye to set. Swish around in the dye mix. Pull them out and drop in a cold water bath. When dry chop to desired shape. Parabolic is all I use now. I did shoot shield that I used a feather burner on but did not like the smoke ring it left on the finished wood shaft. Sold the burner and bought a chopper.

Ness I am a simple but complicated guy :) Ask questions and I will try to answer the best I can. Osage orange self bows rule until you can't shoot them any more,

Exactly. I've never shot a deer but I sure do love deer season. Makes it quiet out on the water.
