I used to see them in OK fairly often, sometimes several at one time, but they were always small ones. I use to see them around the Osage or the Grand above Warsaw when we would turn over rocks looking for worms. My friends mom got stung on the belly in bed and she wasn't a happy camper as I remember.

Never saw anything approaching 3", that would be an unusually big one, I would think.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

my buddy lived in warsaw as a kid and he said him and his brother would shoot them in their basement with a blowgun.

Yeah it probably was smaller than 3 inches..just took a guess and looks like they don't normally get that big. My wife keeps telling me years from now, when i tell the story, it will have grown to the size of a lobster. Interesting to hear others encounters. Spoke to my neighbor and he has found several in his basement over the year...must be a good area for them. I didn't realize they glow in the dark if you sign a black light on them. Cool. I will take scorpions over spiders.

Smaller the venom sack the more dangerous a scorpion is the wives tail but also a great amount of truth to it Quill. Death Stalker being the most deadly. There are some pretty interesting looking scorpion with no doubt some without stingers even that you look at and understand where Hollywood gets the idea for some of the monster creatures. Look up (Wind Scorpion)

Are the crankbaits happy with their new color when they wake up?

I know what its like to have a new born baby and finally get some down time.

Ive been airbrushing crankbaits after they go to sleep at night.

Football, cold beer, and fishing tackle!!!

What else does a married man need! :innocent:

I think the Wilson bend area of Lake O is the scorpion capital of Missouri, everyone I know that lives in that area has a scorpion problem. They seem to have a weird fetish for sinks and bathtubs.

I had a "hatch" of them at my place the Summer after the tornado ripped through here. Everything I picked up had a scorpion under it, so they are around, but I seldom see one since.

I have seen a lot if them around the lake myself. My wife turned over a rock a few years ago and there was a big momma under there. I never knew they carried there young around like a crawfish does. But she was loaded with them.
