I like the looks of that Heddon Pal. How does it cast, and is it in pretty good shape?

Medalists are kinda cool. I inherited a couple from my dad. They're easy to ding up, but a little touch up paint get's them looking good again. While you've got the paint out -- might want to...nope, I ain't gonna say it. :D

Either way, those are treasures coming from somebody special.

ness,

I don't know how the Heddon casts but will find out a little later than sooner. My trip to Jerry's Tackle in Highland was for nought. They did not have any DT6. It appears a trip to T Hargrove is in the future.

I got this reel respooled at T Hargrove and we made our way to the NFOW. That is a tough river to learn to fly fish but I did catch one rainbow on the Heddon. My father-in-law would be happy. To answer the question as to how it casts I really can't answer that having no previous experience. But now the question is: Am I hooked on this?

And one more thing on this. The stay at Sunburst was perfect! We floated on Saturday but that fish I caught was a hundred feet from camp on a nymph bought from Justin.

It was good meeting you, you should be proud to catch a trout here as a fly rod newbie, this river humbles many tried and true fly fishermen, who often go home skunked. Hope to see you again.

The NFOW Rainbows I've caught have been FAT and healthy fish with great color. You would likely catch a lot more fish on the White closer to Mounatin Home, but the quality of the fish on average is better on NFOW.

That's really cool, David. And like Justin said -- catching one on the NFOW is an accomplishment. You gotta tell US if you're hooked on it...
