Wayne SW/MO Posted September 25, 2013 Author Posted September 25, 2013 Well beating Manning is always a tall order, but the Bronco defense doesn't seem to be as strong as it was. I'm not seeing all the negatives for Smith that some are, even manning can't pass with a 300# DL's breath in his face. Avery stepped up big in the last game and if he continues the safeties will have to back off of Bowe. Smith did the heavy lifting in getting SF to the big dance. The OL will hopefully get over the injuries and the rookie will improve, which will make a big difference. If you've watched close you've noticed that Fisher has had his problems. he has the talent and will come around I'm sure, but sooner rather than later would help Smith considerably. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Quillback Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 Yeah Fisher certainly needs some more seasoning. And I agree Smith is under pressure, but he still hangs on to the ball to long, he's got to learn how to make quick reads and get rid of the ball. I can remember watching Marino, the guy would drop back and throw, this was when he was wearing a knee brace, three step drop and throw, he's never get sacked as there just wasn't time for the D linemen to get to him. And from the stats I've seen, Smith could not throw the deep ball in SF either, that's one of the reasons they got rid of him. Crabtree blossomed when Kapernick became the QB. What I like about Smith is that he doesn't throw dumb passes, he's aware of his limitations and does a good job of not throwing INT's. At least for now.
KCRIVERRAT Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 We'll sweep the Raiders and Chargers. Split with the OTF Donkey's and get a wild card spot. HUMAN RELATIONS MANAGER @ OZARK FISHING EXPEDITIONS
ozark trout fisher Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 We'll sweep the Raiders and Chargers. Split with the OTF Donkey's and get a wild card spot. The Chiefs are good. But a 5-1 division record seems optimistic.....I'll go 4-2. You should by all means sweep the Raiders. Then either split with or (more likely) sweep the Chargers. Sorry, got to predict ya'll getting swept by Denver as I think they are headed for an undefeated division (maybe overall?) record this season. The game in KC will be no cakewalk but like I said before come prepared to score 40 or so in order to beat a team with Peyton Manning and the best receiving corps in the league. But this still could very well end up being enough for a wildcard spot. I don't think there are great teams in the AFC outside of Denver. Whoever loses the AFC north between Baltimore and Cincinnati probably grabs one wild card spot but who gets the other.....the Dolphins, Texans.... Jets? None of those teams strike fear into my heart. 9-7 will likely do it and that seems conservative for the Chiefs, even with losing a game or two in the division.
Wayne SW/MO Posted September 25, 2013 Author Posted September 25, 2013 No doubt it will take a bad game for the Chiefs to steal one away from Denver, but Reid seems to have this team really believing and because of that surprises are possible. I think the bigger threat now is with them getting cocky and losing a game they should win. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Quillback Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Chiefs pulled off another one, but this was an expected win. Giants have completely fallen apart.
Jerry Rapp Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 A question for the Chief's fans. Would you rather have Alex Smith or Eli Manning as your QB?
Flysmallie Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Tough question. But right now I would take Smith. Eli has always struggled when the chips are down. And the only benefit he has over Smith is the long ball.
Flysmallie Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 I love how nobody gives the Chiefs credit for anything ever. Even on ESPN they just said that even though the Chiefs struggled they were still able to squeak out a win. A 31-7 beat down is not squeaking out a win. Meanwhile everyone still thinks Philly is a powerhouse. Maybe The whoopin that Peyton gave them will finally prove that Chip's offense doesn't mean anything in the NFL. He should try to get Kiffen's old job.
Justin Spencer Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 Loving this team, they seem to wear down defenses, and overcame 3 turnovers to whoop the Giants. NFC east suuuuucks!
