Mike Worley Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 Lake level 659 water temp 78-80 degrees. Water clarity in the area fished (pt.13-pt.9) about 10'. Fished about a half day yesterday and found walleyes biting on nightcrawler rigs trolled on bottom bouncers and on jigging spoons about 30-40'. We caught about 10 with 4 being keepers up to about 22". Also talked to a friend who was doing well on spotted & SMB at this same depth on dropshot rigs.
Kramr Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Thanks Mike. Gonna be down there for a week starting next weekend.
Ham Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 I'll be fishing 10/8/13. I'll be taking a coworker mainly looking for crappie, but I won't be able to leave without a little bass fishing. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Mike Worley Posted September 27, 2013 Author Posted September 27, 2013 Today Bill Struthers, Bob Paulette and I took some of the wounded warriors from Fort Leonard Wood that are staying at Lost Cove Resort in the Pontiac Missouri area out for half day trips. These guys put their lives on the line for the USA and we all owe them a debt of gratitude. Scott the guy in my boat was a master Sargent who did two tours in Iraq and lost most of his squad when their mine proof vehicle was blown 30' in in the air by a Taliban IED shortly after they were transfered to Afghanistan. He also brought his 10 year old son who was the guy who caught most of the fish best one was a 4 pound plus walleye and a 15" crappie, caught 7 or 8 other walleyes but only had that one keeper walleye. Bill's boat had 2 keeper walleyes and some spotted bass snd Bob 's boat caught a nice 4 pound flathead catfish and a several nice spotted bass splitshotting crawlers while Bill & I trolled bottom bouncers.
packersooner Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Good for you all Mike! I am sure that day will stick in the ole memory bank for a long...long time. I am glad you were able to get into some fish the last few times out. My father in law and I fished for about two and a half days down there and just could not buy a walleye. We fished from the Big Creek area back into the DC region. Mainly fished points, but did fish a few flats. We primarily fished the main lake, but did work 2-3 points back into some of the bigger creeks. Tried trolling cranks, jigging brush piles, and bottom bouncers anywhere from 25 to 40 feet deep. As for the bottom bouncers, we tried all sorts of combos from a plain slow death hook to a double hook harness. It seemed like most of the fish we marked were around 35 feet. Of course, the bass and bluegill cooperated! Think I may have caught a personal best bluegill. That sucker was thick! Jason
Ham Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Anyone know if any boat ramps are closed on Bull Shoals? Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Diamond City Fisher Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 The Diamond City main ramp is open. The campground ramp is closed.
Ham Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 I launched at Fairview. It's an AGFC ramp. The Ramp in Jimmy Creek near Bull Shoals Boat Dock appeared to be operational. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
