merc1997 Bo Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Read where only COE operated campgrounds will close. Those operated by this private organization that currently operate several COE campgrounds on TR will remain open....BUT...since the COE just ruled against the legality of it's contracts with these private groups that is not a sure thing. At the Baxter launch ramp, for instance, the iron gates leading to the campground are past the road leading to the launch ramp, so if the COE puts up barricades to the launch ramp road that WE own, simply move the stupid things and launch and enjoy your day of fishing on OUR Lake. It's OURS,.not THEIRS !!! we, the tax payers own the camp grounds also. bo

Duck Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 GNS, there is a difference in the 2 passes, you may want to invest another $10 for the National Parks and Federal Reservation Lands pass if you visit the National parks, admittance for your car and passengers is free. Hope this helps. Duck

9LB Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 I was up to stockton last night and they had all the corp launches "sort of blocked" you could get around and get your boat launched but they had te drive partially blocked off
GNSfishing Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 What is status of Cape Fair ramp access?? Launched there last evening, was the only boat out. Caught several short spots, 1 keeper small mouth, 1 keeper spot, on spoons and jigs with beaver trailer. The spots were following the schools of shad surfacing here and there, loads of fun for about 1 hour. Started about 6:30 pm and quit at dark.
Members MOhawghunter417 Posted October 2, 2013 Members Posted October 2, 2013 Could someone who lives close to TR list some of the open ramps that are open and a person won't need a torch or bolt cutters to launch their boat? I hear H hwy ramp is open at Baxter, and i read that State park is open but anything aroung KC that a guy can launch? Ahoys? Mill cr?
Quillback Posted October 2, 2013 Author Posted October 2, 2013 Just got back from Lost Bridge South on Beaver, happened to get there as a ranger was at the launch telling a striper guide that had just floated his boat to reload and leave. The ranger was getting ready to barricade the entrance. The rangers are still working, just keep that in mind if you remove a barricade and launch.
Champ188 Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 So if the rangers are still working, why the **** are they closing the parks/ramps? Good gawd.
*T* Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Seems like more effort & money being spent in the process of shutting 'em down and keeping fishermen out, just to show you that if you don't keep paying more & more to government, they will hurt you where it hurts the most. Did you see the fed exec branch denying access to WWII Memorial to WWII Vets who traveled from all over the country to visit it? This was privately financed memorial. Well, they "stormed" the baricades and entered anyway. Don't give in to tyranny. "Water is the driving force of all Nature." -Leonardo da Vinci
