I read an article saying if we don't raise debt ceiling we can

A. Slash discresionary spending (including defense) by 33%

B. Cut mandatory spending (such as social security) by 16% a month

C. Raise taxes by 12% a month

or a combination of the three

I'm all for it, but we'll never get agreement on which to do. I say let each party pick one not to do, and let the last one standing be the solution.

The Government only collects about 225 billion a month, but surely they can find 24 billion to avoid the default, well if they really want to. If they want to continue punishing people for failure to hand them a blank check and falling in line, well?

Wayne, you are correct. Thanks for that post. Would like to get out fishing but deer are moving. I have something other than fishing fever right now & my bow is shootin well.

Good point Wayne. To my knowledge ongoing collection of taxes has not shut down so the money is there and this fear-mongering garbage being spread by the Administration and the biased media about defaulting on the obscene debt payment is just that.....garbage....as usual !
