mzrealfish Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Hey all, 2 of us are coming down this Friday and floating, fishing camping this run and finishing up Sunday. 2 guys, 2 dogs and 2 canoes. Just wanted to see if anyone had any info or ideas for us. We are planning the usual arsenal of jigs, craws and flukes but wanted to see if there were any presentations that might suit us better for the season. Thanks, Mark
Greasy B Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Mark, While I don’t know enough to offer any advice I can tell you what we found about a week ago fishing a few miles below where your floating: Low clear water, it took long cast to keep from spooking them, most of the fish had moved out of the faster water, heads and tails of pools were better than the middle, the fish were all over soft plastics but they were just grabbing the tails, stick baits had a better hookup rate, mid day was better than early or late. The river was empty and the experience was first class. Mike, His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. Michael Palin, Terry Jones, 1974
lee G. Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Just drove over it at highway 7, the river looks great!! Good luck.
mzrealfish Posted October 21, 2013 Author Posted October 21, 2013 Nice. We are excited. We usually do 3-4 canoe trips per year. This is only our 2nd this year. Life went and got a little busy on us
UnCivE Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 You picked a good weekend to float, I'll probably watch you float by from my lawn chair
lee G. Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 You got a lawn chair on the river? Dang, wish i had one! I am just outside of Richland, wish i could fish more, lol, but i am old, heheh
mzrealfish Posted October 23, 2013 Author Posted October 23, 2013 If you see the Royal Debacle floating by holler!

fishinwrench Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 A boat with character. You can't buy one, they just happen. Cherish it.
