FTR LRF, I'm not a big fish guy. I'm a numbers guy. By catching numbers, I stumble across a bigger fish every now and again. IF, they run a little water on Norfork, someone will pop a bigger fish for sure. Up river is where the bigger fish are right now and I don't fish that section very often.

I hear you, most of the time when i'm trout fishing i'm the same way, I used to go a lot on the Little Red and at Calico Rock, Calico is a numbers area as well. I'm good with that, at this point i'm ready for some fast action hopefully on a winter day!!

Forgot to mention Ham, I wasn't really happy with my spinning rod arsenal for those little jigs, there more geared with a heavier action for smallmouth, so I broke down and got a crossfire, it is definitely more geared to cast those jigs! I've got some CX premium coming in to, but my order got delayed in Dallas due to the weather, should get here in time tho!!

My biggest brown is 7.75 lbs., caught it during a little family get together. We spent a week at a lodge near the dam in May 1987 and fished every day. I got the brown on a Little Cleo, spray painted white on one side. Also caught a 6 lb. brown on that trip. I've fished the White 3 times since then, never have caught another brown.

Ham, since you brought up about sections to fish. From where we are staying, where are you planning to fish? I"ve never been here before so it will all be new to me, which I like!! I see where buffalo shoals are right there. Should we fish close or make some boat runs? Guess that will be determined when we get there and see the conditions, but just curious if you had a recommendation?

Quill, that's a nice fish, hope you can top that next weekend!!

I had some bad luck yesterday. Went down hard on the ice and landed directly on my right shoulder, didn't even get a chance to try to catch myself. Can't raise my right arm now much more than maybe 20 degrees from my side. My wife had to put my socks on for me. I'm worried that I may have torn something. Hopefully not and it's just sore and stiff from the fall and will work itself out as the week goes by. Wish me luck, I really want to make this trip.

Terrierman, hate to hear this, hope that shoulder heals up, really looking forward to meeting you! If it isn't better soon you may wanna get it looked at. My dad did the same thing one morning while feeding the cats on some black ice. His was dislocated, but you'd probably know if it is, his was unmistakable. Get well Soon...Bret

LRF. We may launch close or we may trailer, but we won't make a long boat ride. I'll look at conditions and we'll vote on options. I'll have to leave time for you to get back to cook on Saturday LOL.

Terrierman, that's some tough luck. I've been trying to be as careful as possible. I've been having to inch my way over an icy parking lot to get into work. I really fear a fall like you too. I of course hope you're going to still be able to come fish, but I feel like this won't be a one and done.

Sounds good, i'm looking forward to trying some new water on the White, I've only touched the surface of that river.
