Quillback Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 I might be the only guy without a boat I'm hoping to be there by noon Friday assuming the roads are in decent shape by then. I'm down for slaw and I'll bring some plastic plates/cups/cutlery. I can bring some store bought potato salad for Friday night - or if you guys think we have time, I can wrap some baking taters in foil, and assuming we get a good sized fire going, we can bake them in the coals to go with the brisket.
Terrierman Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 I'm bringing apple crisp for dessert for the Friday fish fry. Am I correct in assuming there is an oven that I can bake it fresh there? I'll also bring along some oatmeal for breakfast on Sunday if anybody besides me likes eating wallpaper paste.
lee G. Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 I just want you all to know, the rest of us want to see a lot of photos of this!!!!
Ham Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Just throwing this out there, we are going to have more boats than we need. Folks that are trailering long distances MIGHT want to leave their boat at home and ride with a local. HINT. I'm willing to drive my boat or ride in someone else's. I have a jet so low water is NO problem but high speed is NOT happening. I'd rather leave my boat at home IF it's not going to be used than leave it unattended at the boat ramp (grew up in Baton Rouge area where petty theft was a constant annoyance). BUT PLEASE UNDERSTAND that I will fish Friday. It's starting to get close enough to start guessing who's fishing with who and where we're going to meet up to fish. I want to avoid wasting half the day looking for someone that I'm going to fish with. Please help a brother out on this. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. LittleRedFisherman Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Ham, that is something I've been thinking about as well. I don't care either way, I did talk to someone at Rileys awhile ago, and they have places my boat could be left there if it's not used. Depending on what we figure out before time, I don't have a problem bringing it, and leaving there if that's the way it turns out If someone had boat issues, might be good to have an ace in the hole. .For safety and better fishing reasons, it might ge good to ride with someone that is knows the river well.. I'd like to be there early Friday, but it will probably be closer to noon, so some of you guys will be fishing already probably. We can exchange some phone numbers before time if someone needs to get in contact while out on the water. There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!
gotmuddy Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Dont worry about leaving your boat, we can leave any unused boats at rileys. Buffalo shoals is tricky with low water. with a jet and keeping a cool head you wont have any trouble. I got a motor for my boat, now I just need to get all the dang snow out of it! everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.

Quillback Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Quillback is bringing his dog, but no humans other than himself. I am sharing the loft with Phil Friday night and Terrierman Saturday night, so please remind Michelle if you are calling her. The loft has one more sleeping area open for anyone who wants it.
