Pepe Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 We fished Friday, Saturday & Sunday under cold-front bluebird skies. Bass were scattered but all that we caught were healthy. From Big Creek to SK bridge we fished a little of everything and a lot of a couple things. I really hoped to get a spoon and spinnerbait bite going. We marked many fish on sonar and there was plenty of wind to encourage us. We just couldn;t get anything going on either pattern. Color 62 Wiggle warts and a homemade bluegill skirted jig with single grub tail produced the most fish and they were not plentiful. I did get this 6.8 on the jig though and that made me feel better.
motoman Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Good report Danger.......and that 6.8 is a beauty! Well done.:-)
Members Chunk Rock Posted November 4, 2013 Members Posted November 4, 2013 nice fish! did that fish have sores on it? thanks for the report
crazy4fishin Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Danger - you should submit the picture to Bassmaster magazine - they have pictures of all the lunkers in the back, you might as well get a little notoriety for such a nice catch. C4F Crazy4fishinA Cornhusker
jmes Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 To bad you didn't enter the Big Bash tournament this weekend on saturday 5.77 won it for $ 12,500.00 Great report
Pepe Posted November 5, 2013 Author Posted November 5, 2013 This bass did have a sore on her back near the tail and was pale in color. I guess she has been in deeper water but was caught in 22'. Thanks, but not interested in any notoriety or fishing for money. Fortunately I have been blessed and all my fishing can be C&R. That big girl was back in the water in minutes, swimming away strong. That particular green lady is my Personal Best for this lake and I sure would like to catch her again someday. I sometimes worry that too many of our big bass get hauled a long way down the lake.
fishingaddiction Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Congrats on your TR personal best LMB. That is great bass anywhere you fish. This time of year patterns are hard to establish from one day the next, or even hour to hour. I will catch em good doing something for a few hours, then that pattern is over. I think the fish are so scattered in all locations and depths. For me the wart and the jig have been the most consistent bite for keepers. Thanks for the report. Born to Fish. Forced to Work.
