Members raildog Posted January 19, 2014 Author Members Posted January 19, 2014 Seth, Thanks for the report, I grew up on the river below the lock and dam, sadly I know nothing about the river above it except what I've what I've heard. I have heard a lot of nice cats are taken out of that hole. I believe they dredged gravel out of that hole for years and years. I have caught walleye out from the mouth of the Maries in that deeper water right out from the mouth. Good Fishing Kenny
bfishn Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 They're piled up somewhere, go get 'em! I can't dance like I used to.

Hog Wally Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Anyone have a accurate osage river water temp. And I know it's real cold but I'm freaking out here. Haven't worked since Christmas and kids been snowed In 10 days!! I don't like this house anymore.
fishinwrench Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 The method for determining river temp goes something like this: Determine the average daily High temp over the last 4 days...... 27° " " " " LOW " " " " " " ...... 14° Add those two figures together, .................... 41° Then divide by 2 ,...........................................20.5° Hmmm. Well, by that theory it's either locked up in ice or its about 33-35° The coldest water I have ever caught a limit of keeper bass in was 36° (just for trivial records sake). Lynch hollow at the 9mm.
Hog Wally Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 That's quite impressive an equation. I was hoping for around 42. Maybe in week or two ? Nice weather headed our way so.... Crap! Just whatever This winter is a real stinker.
Seth Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 The riverd have been in the 36-37 rsnge for the past month. This warm up should raise those trmps sbove 40 though I hope! I've been dying to get out and hit the Osage but I prefer the water 40 or above at least. I struggle when it dips below 40 u less I fish springs. That's almost too easy though.
Hog Wally Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Seth, have you been to labadie in the winter ? It's balmy warm water. Fish stacked usually.
Seth Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Nope, never been there. I've heard others talk about it though. I've stories about good catfish and hybrid fishing there during the winter but the few first hand reports from guys that have been there didn't have much success. A few years ago, a guy did hook and get on video a huge blue during the dead of winter.
