I don't go thru there daily but there's been a few piddling around down there. They looked to be pretty bored and without a plan. My impression is that it's pretty dead unless you wanna load the boat with asian carp or drum.

We went to Bagnell yesterday. One guy in a small jon said they had caught 21 walleye over the past few days. Only six were keepers and the biggest was a 6.5 pounder. He was anchored up at the head of the island closest to the dam vertically fishing a minnow lip hooked with a jighead with a small treble stinger.

We did okay on white bass early. Black bass sucked. We caught two on jerkbaits and two on jigs. All were dinks.

My buddy went back up to Bagnell Saturday morning and said it was dead. He caught 10 white bass and left. Nothing like New Years Day. That's all I got.

Tailwater fishing for me is either feast or famine. I either wack em or get skunked. I rarely have a so-so trip. What kind of baits and rigs do you use when targetting walleye and sauger? I wouldn't mind to try it one of these days but I really don't have a clue about rigging. I know some area's to try for them but that's about it.

I've started referring to the Bagnell to Blue Spring stretch as "The Dead Ditch".

Drives me crazy because there was a time..... but I haven't had even a "decent" outing there in a long LONG time.
