Mitch f Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Tornado warnings in IL, crazy weather. The wind is blowing hard and bright sunshine here in O'Fallon, MO. But on the horizon very dark and on it's way. "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
Wayne SW/MO Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 It shouldn't take long, the wind is just short of 50mph here, I think. There isn't much on the radar at this point. It appears on the satellite that everything is farther north than I thought is was supposed to be? Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Quillback Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Sunny, windy and warm here in NW AR, 73 inside the house.
Old plug Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 If there were any thunderstorms west or Southwest of me I would be concerned. But that dies not seem to be. My son is in O fallon and my daughter is either in Hermann or Cottelsville depending on what house she is at. Ijust looked at the weather map and your wind should be coming down from the Northwest.looks to me like all of you better enjoy that 75 degrees for a few more minutes. I think the cold front is in those dark clouds coming
Wayne SW/MO Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Big and bad tornado hit in Ill. Not sure where the town is in the state, Washington near Peoria, but it looks bad. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Kayser Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Had what I would describe as a hurricane blow through Kirkwood around noon. 5 minutes of whiteout from rain and hail, blowing sideways. Not a leaf left on the trees. WARNING!! Comments to be interpreted at own risk. Time spent fishing is never wasted.
Mitch f Posted November 17, 2013 Author Posted November 17, 2013 So I noticed I put the wrong date on the title of this thread, I know how to edit the post but not the topic...can someone tell me how? "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
moguy1973 Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 Had what I would describe as a hurricane blow through Kirkwood around noon. 5 minutes of whiteout from rain and hail, blowing sideways. Not a leaf left on the trees. Yeah, we heard loud noises outside around noon and it looked like armageddon here. Saw a lot of medium sized branches falling into our yard and pea sized hail....probably the hardest I've ever seen the wind blow. I probably picked up 2 dozen 2-3" diameter branches out of my yard. Looked like there was lots of power lines down around town too as we saw a lot of Ameren trucks parked and guys working on our way back from the store tonight. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
Al Agnew Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 It blew through here in about 10 or 15 minutes of hurricane weather, and then cleared up, though the wind kept honking. Didn't get enough rain to give the rivers some color. But I would have liked to have been on the river this afternoon after it blew through, even with the wind. I was working on my boat, and stopped to fish the pond for a bit. I was catching a bass on just about every cast.
Old plug Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 Hurricane weather please do not remind me. I have been through two at sea and and when your out in the middle of the Atlantic they can make you feel so awful insignificant. We had a steady blow all day nothing really violent but enough to bounce docks pretty good.
