Fished Mon and Tues afternoons from 2 to dusk... Sun was pretty darn cold but the bite was on. Started half way back in viney and a wart with no luck. Moved to main lake and 45 degree chunk rock and stickbait and got bit. Sun caught 10 with 5 good keeps, Mon caught 4 with two good keeps and a nice smallie too. Water temps at 52-54 up here.

They were just starting to go on the jerk bait when I was down there about 3 weeks ago. Looks like it might be in full swing now with all these reports rolling in on success on the sticker. Wish I could get back down there for a weekend. Jerk bait fishing is probably my #1 favorite way to catch them with top water being a close 2nd.

I thought so, too, at first glance, Thumbs. But the eye isn't right and there's no name on top of the back up by the head. Otherwise, it looks like a RC STX or a Megabass. I'm a big fan of those Rick Clunn baits. They aren't real durable but at $7 and change apiece vs. $25 or $30 for a Megabass, I can afford to buy some backups.

Academy recently came out with their version of the RC STX/Vision 100 style bait. It says floating on their website but my buddy bought one and he said it actually suspends. I bought 3 yesterday for $5.99 apiece that I'm going to give a test run today He caught fish on his last Thursday but that was before we went into the deep freeze so we'll see.
