WHARFRAT_____ go try that rogue are whatever you use. Also those big bass grubs. I the largest crappie i ever seen caught in this lake was by my son up at themouth of Little Indian creek on Chompers Grub. I said to him boy that thing is a one in a life time and he thru it back. I was going to have that one mounted for him. I did not even get a chance to measure it he just turned it loose.

Myself as far as real big crappie go i do not think LOZ measures up that well. I think maybe the best crappie fishing in the state occurs below Clarksville dam on the Mississippi. Saverton dam is also pretty good. I imagine you got some of that fishing as a boy didn't you wrench.

We fished that area some but not for crappie. We'd run down the Salt to the mouth, take a left (upstream) on the Miss. and spend all day fishing the backwater sloughs that are now part of Ted Shanks WA I think. Haven't been back up there in over 20 years. We caught alot of 2-4 lbers (bass) and the occasional pike or insanely huge bluegill but don't ever remember getting into any crappie, although I'm sure they were in there.

There was some big bass in that ted shanks. I had a friend went to work for the conservation department up there. He caught several. He is the guy that caught that 9 lb bass in that lilly infested bay right above clarksville dam
