Fish24/7 Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 Looking for some fresh input A ton of shakey heads on the market right now What's your favorite one's and why ? When it comes to the angle of the eyelet on a shakey head what degree 45,60,90...is preferred and why? Is a straight eye "better" than a flat eye? Thanks
dwiebenga Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 My favorite head was the try tungsten ike head, but they are discontinued, so I will let someone else chime in on the head. I love the ZOOM Shakey Head worm. I prefer watermelon red, green pumpkin, and Watermelon Candy. You get 20 worms in a bag, and they flat catch 'em!
Bill Babler Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 Spot Remover are pretty hard to beat. My second chose is Chompers http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
RSBreth Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 I really liked the Luck "E" Strike roundhead jighead you used to be able to get at Wally World - Gamakatsu long shank light wire hook, and they came in 1/16-ounce which I used a lot. I'm not sure if Spotsticker has them that light on their website but they used to. Anyway I like a good 90 degree hook, and weights from 1/16 through 5/16. Spot removers are nice, but I loose more jigheads doing the shaky than anything else - I gotta get them in bulk and cheap. I might have to start making them myself like I did finesse jigs.
Guest Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 Spot Remover are pretty hard to beat. My second chose is Chompers Screw lock or collar type? Ive had a lot of success with Gambler Giggy head. Its a round ball that's good with a 3"-4" grub also. I can swim the grub thru dock stalls and deeper brush. Really good for rivers with logjams too. The spot remover really excels in rock or gravel type bottoms. It stands up just right and those smallmouth really like that profile. Roboworms (Aarons magic)are my favorite.
abkeenan Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 I also prefer spot removers. They do get snagged in rocks A LOT and you lose a good amount but they stand up perfectly. I nail them in the upper part of the jaw just about every time. I also prefer the screw lock head on them.
Members KC Bass Fanatic Posted December 17, 2013 Members Posted December 17, 2013 The Owner heads are high quality. I am using them more and more these days.

Ike designed this head for VMC. It sure does look it would be an awesome head and I plan to try some this year. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/VMC_Ike_Approved_Rugby_Jig/descpage-VMCRJ.html
