The spoon in the ear had to suck, but that's why I carry cross cut pliers. Cut the hook behind the ear and pull in thru. A little pain, but cheaper than the ER and you get to keep fishing.

Ham- The spoon was no problem. This is the third time she has hooked me so were getting pretty good at hook removal now. All we had with us was hemostats so she pushed the barb through, took off the spoon from the split ring, and we just went about fishing for the next couple hours with the hook still in. Later on we borrowed some pliers from Lobo Landing and took care of it about 2 minutes. The hook in my head was a great bargaining chip for the rest of the day, I'd say, "honey, I think we should fish for a few more hours" and she agreed so it all worked out. I'm just glad it was a new spoon and not one the old rusty ones we found in the trees at JFK!

Many thanks to LRF for his posts and PMs. I was able to fish the LRR this week, but the water generation afforded very few opportunities to wade. My lesson learned is to acquire a boat when that much water is being released. It's amazing how quickly it will rise above my waders ... When the water level was wadeable, we were able to land a couple of fish. -R post-14792-138856269598_thumb.jpgpost-14792-138856270839_thumb.jpg

Awesome!! Man you guys had a lot better luck than I did, minus Marcus's treble to the ear, nice move on the bargaining chip tho!! Glad I could help you out, if we could of waited one more day, I think the conditions would of been a lot better were we went!
