Sore Thumbs Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 I have not been seeing fish deep like this on beaver. Am I in the wrong places or are they not there? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk 2
merc1997 Bo Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 I have not been seeing fish deep like this on beaver. Am I in the wrong places or are they not there? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk 2 from what little i ever fish beaver, you have to get up toward prairie creek to begin seeing any significant large size shad schools. this probable has to do with stripers. i have found areas of shad schools in the dam area of beaver, but it was not often. i just really believe bass fishing really suffers on beaver because of stripers. a long time ago, they also put stripers in bull shoals. it, just as beaver, got to where you could not catch a bass. they finally quit stocking them, and when they died off and got caught out, the rest of the fishery came right back. in the next two or three years, i believe bull shoals will become one of the best fisheries in the country again. why?? because of the tremendous spawns that have occurred during all the years of high water. plus, it just does not receive the fishing and boating pressure that table rock does. bo
gitnby Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Bill, you have 4 screen pics up. I assume your clock is off? Obviously, you weren't out there after 9PM? But on pic 2, the time is 6:44 pm? Are you using 2 identical units; hull and TM mount? great post! I think we all are re-thinking how we can better use our electronics!
Sore Thumbs Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 To be fair Bo I haven't looked for them that hard either. I went Sunday and looked for a bit around the Rocky branch area. The wind kicked up pretty hard after 8 am after that I fished hard with a jerkbait and mustered 4 keepers that went around 8lbs. Best one was 2 and half pounder. I couldn't take the cold wind and dropping temps any longer than 12:30. My guides were freezing up and I wasn't catching enough fish to motivate me to stay . I am always struggling with the decision to go to Beaver or TR. I know I will catch more fish up there but I fish a lot of tourneys on Beaver and I am constantly trying new areas to better myself. Catching a limit is not as hard as it used to be but im trying to find those places that hold the bigger fish. As many of you know that can be a difficult task. The ole saying is true. If you can catch fish on Beaver. You can catch them anywhere. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk 2

gitnby Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 Oh, I see now that on the second pic the time is cut off and I'm seeing minutes and seconds. I thought maybe you were using 2 identical units. But, it does show "pm".
