kjackson Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 One thing worth noting, I think, is that these lures are not as two dimensional as they seem online. The "outer" minnow is not simply a mylar overlay, but it has a molded depth that adds to the realistic appearance of the design. You have to examine one in hand to get the feel for the design. I saw these at the ICAST show and was impressed by the look there, but it wasn't until I received a care package that I got to handle 'em. I have yet to fish the BaitBall series, but they look very fishy. On the plus side, these are designed by a working guide who started the company, so they should fish well. I know that there was a lot of testing and development that went into them before they were put into production. Having said all that, I'm almost more impressed by the "Hunt for Center" crawfish design from Live Target. It could be the real thing for the 'dad bite. I'm going to have to try that...
Quillback Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 I saw those HFC dads on the TW site. Interesting, I wish they ran a little deeper.
Old plug Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 If you fish long enough all of you will reach abkeenams place. Somewhere around your late 60's or early 70's. Your blood circulation is no longer what it used to be at that age and your hands and your other extremities ,no matter how well protected will get really cold.

I don't think abkeenam is even close to being 70's. But I hear you on the extremities.

Quill...I have one on the way, the phantom green/brown/whatever. First thought is it looks a lot like a wart. Video seems to back that up. Will put some pics up when it arrives. Colors are a little tricky to get a good look at, even in the ICAST video.
Quillback Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Cool, I'll be interested to hear what you think of the HFC dads.
Kelroy Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 I was in Columbia yesterday for the Mo BASS quarterly meeting. Just happened to nab this from the Bass Pro afterward. They only had 4 or 5 crankbaits and a couple of squarebills left. Don't know if it will catch anything, but it sure hooked me...
