Not the heaviest fish I have caught but probably the longest. She shoulda weighed 8 pounds but just bumped 6. She was sickly and skinny. Caught on spin rod with 6 pound test on a grub. Fishing with Bill B. and Phil Lilley on tax day around 2005. Bet our best 5 that day woulda been close to 25 pounds.Remember that day Bill? Most that day were caught on a jerbait, April 15th. Hint: dont put the jerbait away to early !

I once caught a fish just like that...named him One Eyed Jack. Was 23 inches long and missing his entire tail and had just 1 eye. Fish in it's hay day was probably an 8lb fish. It was just extremely old and on her last leg/fin and weighed probably 3lbs maybe. Caught it in mid March on a plum twin tailed hula grub and it put up ZERO fight back to the boat. Like dragging in a wet towel. Good point also Denjac....I fish the jerkbait WELL INTO APRIL every year and had my best day ever on TR with #'s of fish in Mid-April on a jerk bait.

You guys are full of it. Jerk bait is completely impotent after mid-March. Put it up and don't get it out again til next December. :yuush:

Jeremy, you probably photo-shopped that one, and get off my bank.

I can't afford to photo shop!

In July a couple summers ago in a little local's tournament out of Cape Fair, my partner & I weighed in a 6 fish stringer in that weighed 27.39 pounds. There wasn't any single fish that was giant, just 6 real nice bass. Our big bass was right around 6

Remember - If at first you DO succeed, try not to act surprised & quit while you're ahead.

My biggest was in early April 2011 right at dark. Little over 25 inches long and 17 inch girth not a scale in the boat.

One day he will ask himself, "Why didn't I just keep fishin' with grandpa?"
