John Andrews Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 their h20 brand soft plastic frogs are a hit with the local bass. I landed more with them that the over priced kvd and spro. I go there first before Bass Pro
MeatintheFreezer Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 Dito on the Freddy's Steakburgers!! I was at the one in Springfield last weekend and decided to stop in for a burger on the way out. First time I have ever ate there, but certainly wont be the last. The opportunity for a delicious burger is worth the risk of any price scanning difference! Remember - If at first you DO succeed, try not to act surprised & quit while you're ahead.
J-Doc Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 If anyone is wanting to know more about their H20 rods or their H20 water suit (bibbs and jacket), shoot me a message. I've had terrific experiences with both. ESPECIALLY the rods. (I held a GLoomis in my left hand, my H20 Express rod in my right hand - $60 vs $300: I'll take $60 all day long. Mine was just as light and almost as sensitive). Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
Kee sims Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 I have had it go both ways at the one in Springfield I've had stuff listed higher and rang up dollar or two lower on line and stuff and I've also had cranks listed for couple dollars lower ring up dollar or two higher than listed
Members JimG Posted January 27, 2014 Members Posted January 27, 2014 Good selection of sneakers that's usually what will get me to make the 25 mile drive. Yep, Academy is generally my go to place to get tennis shoes, and one of the better place to find bowling shoes.
ollie Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 I don't think the Academy in J town is all that bad either. For shoes they are hard to beat. For fishing stuff they are hit and miss for me. I like 4# P-line for trout and they don't carry that size, but they carry the larger sizes for bass. They definitely are more geared towards bass fishing. "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
Quillback Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 They've just come out with an Academy brand knock off of a Megabass 110. $5.99. I haven't fished one, but I'll probably pick one up next time I'm at Academy.
