I've been hearing that the deer population in north MO is way down- that a lot of people are mad at MDC for not putting a limit on doe tags this year. I guess CWD is having an adverse affect on deer?

I'm not in the loop at all on this.

On a side note- I've been showing off these 2 deer pics to friends. First is the "wife", Kathy Carnahan and the second is her 18 year old son Nate. They're from SE Kansas.

Blue tongue had a huge effect on deer.

Should rebound pretty quick though.

EHD got several last summer (2012) in the drought around here.

Weather played a big whammy on this year, windy and 70 opening weekend, windy and 20 the last weekend of firearms season. Both weekends were like hunting in a jet wash from a big ole jet turbine. I had deer walk within 20 ft and never saw them till they spooked.

October game cams at the farm showed several bucks ranging from spikes to a nice 10 pt. Then the cams started showing only a few does during season. Dec cams and muzzleloader season had dwindled only to a few pics. Did get some nice bobcat shots.
