ness Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 It's all about hate for me. I hate Bilichick, Brady, Elway and the Broncos. I like Manning. So, the hate scale was tipped slightly more to the Pats and I had to root for the Broncos in the playoffs. That ends now. Go Seahawks. John
ozark trout fisher Posted January 21, 2014 Author Posted January 21, 2014 The play that injured Talib should have been offensive PI. No argument there. But let's not pretend that it was an attempt to injure the guy, as Bellichick came out and said. It was an attempt to keep Talib from becoming a factor in that particular play, and that's it. What he did is routine for both Denver and New England receivers, it was just unfortunate that it resulted in an injury. I understand most of you are Chiefs fans and will root like all heck against Denver and Peyton Manning. But are you really prepared to cheer for a team that A, has Richard Sherman on its roster, and B, calls itself the Legion of Boom? Your call there. I am a huge Russell WIlson fan, but that obviously goes by the wayside in a couple weeks.

I don't think Welker intended to injure, but it happened on an illegal play that the officials have refused to call against Denver all year long. Can both teams lose?
Flysmallie Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 I'm not rooting against Denver and Peyton because I'm a Chiefs fan. That's not a valid reason in my books. But I've never liked Peyton, never. Just something about him that rubs me the wrong way. Sherman? Whatever. Same stuff has been happening for years. He's not the first mouthy player to come along and won't be the last. At least he shows passion in his interview unlike Peyton who always gives the same scripted answers. And don't act like the Broncos are better than that. They've had their fair share. Shannon Sharpe ring a bell.
Quillback Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 They need to figure out how they're going to call those pick plays, if they are going to allow WR's to get away with that kind of stuff, then they should let DB's layout WR's as they come across the middle. (Before the ball is in the air).
Flysmallie Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 And I don't think anyone can honestly say they know what Welker's intentions really were. But it was classless no matter what.
ozark trout fisher Posted January 21, 2014 Author Posted January 21, 2014 My question is how can Peyton rub you the wrong way and Sherman doesn't? You might be the only one. I see Welker is really classless, 2x over.

I see Welker is really classless, 2x over. I don't know why there was a double post. I didn't say that either one rubbed me the wrong way more or less than the other. I'm just not a Manning lover. There has always just been something about him that I don't like. You can't deny his abilities, but that goes for Sherman too. Just like Manning making a calculated decision at the line to score, Sherman also made a calculated decision before the interview. He went for the attention grab. And was very successful. Maybe if Crabtree would have just shook his hand none of this would have happened. Either way it should be a good game. I hope it's a good game anyway.
Wayne SW/MO Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 I admire Manning, he is skilled. He's not the only one, there have been many over the years that I just have to admire. I don't necessarily make that reason to root for them. I have to go with Denver if for no other reason than to give the Chiefs more credibility. They play made the playoffs playing in a division that produced two other playoff teams and one may win it all. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
stlfisher Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 I am a Manning fan and will be rooting for the Bronco's in the Super Bowl. I don't like the Seahawks for much the same reason as Wayne Stated above. I can't route for the Patriots because of the spy gate deal either. They haven't won one since that came to the surface.. Then again I route for the Rams...so not much to be excited about the last decade.
