Jerry Rapp Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Don't know if it's true but the story I remember was the water was high and the winners pushed their boats over logs into smelzers lake. I think this event was one of the AmBASSador classics. Some shots were actually fired at some of the contestants since with the high water they could get back into "private" lakes.

I think it was Roland Martin, but not in a lock. He was between a moored barge and the bank, maybe 10 ft of width, and moored barged shifted toward the bank and "squeezed" his boat causing some damage.

There are marinas for the pleasure boaters. And there is that place right as you get in town. I put my boat in at Hideaway Harbor a few times a year but have not stopped there in a while. Age makes you less fun.

The wood shed is full of wood, the garden is started, the leaves are all picked up and both vehicles are running (just barely, though) and I am going fishing. This will be my second time out. The first was at January-Wabash to take some of those trout they put but I must have been a bit late. Here is my itineray: 9-12 White roadrunner on ultra-lite. Shaky head and motor-oil worm on the Conolon Suspending crank bait on bait-caster 12-1 Poppers on the fly-rod from the bank 1-4 A bait to be nammed later on ultra-lite Tandem spinner bait on bait-caster Wiggle Wart knockoff on the Conolon And the list of what to pack is: Siz pack of Anchor Steam, bratwurts from the WurstHaus in Hermann, grill, chair, cigar, bottle opener and lighter.
