dtrs5kprs Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Man I hate to ask.....but what is a jikka rig tube ? This, with a tube. Also good for beavers, brush hogs, trick worms, etc.
Hazbin Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Good looking jig heads, 60° hook with horrizonal eye, just right for me. Did you pour those yourself? or where did you buy them?

Hook is a Mustad, think it is 45 degree on the wide gap, know it is 4/0. Don't prefer it for shakey heads, but sort of beneficial on the stupid tube. Mr. Babler has chimed in on the EWG issue with respect to one shot kills on fish, especially in FB jigs, and I have seen the same enough to be concerned about it.
eyedabassman Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Sorry to steal your post. But just a heads up on the Jika rig. I use a Normans speed clip as my bottom split ring, that way I can change weights easy and fast!
Members Grubber Posted January 22, 2014 Members Posted January 22, 2014 Why do you guys use two split rings, never tried it that way, always use one and it works great? I would think that the less you got dragging, the less hangups Mike Colvin

Not that it won't work other ways, as you have found out. http://www.in-fisherman.com/2012/10/08/stacey-the-jika-rig-king/
Quillback Posted January 22, 2014 Author Posted January 22, 2014 So many ways to rig a tube, so little time... I watched a "Hook and Look" show a couple of weeks ago, they fished Bull last spring and were tossing the tube, stupid rigged, on spinning tackle. They have a diver doing some underwater filming, and they were showing the smallies come up and grab the tube as it was falling through the water. Pretty neat to see.
