PAT92B Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 We're getting somewhere now. Justin, Where did you get the Boykin? Has he ever retrieved a Canada? I really want a Boykin and I think I better start looking for a new pup pretty soon but I'm concerned about picking up geese. Of course, die hard Boykin guys say they can do it no problem. I just don't know if I'm sold on the idea yet. Pat92B, where you been with that homemade layout boat? I love stuff like that. Do you hunt out of it? or just use it like a sled to get gear in the marsh? or both? I hunt from the layout boat when alone but mostly use it as a sled. I can get a ton of gear yo the hunting area with little effort. I need to get the friends I hunt with to get get a boat.
JohnP Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Mentioned earlier this year that I was looking at getting a new pup and decided to bite the bullet and go with another yella dawg, although I was giving the Brits and Boyk's alot of thought, came down to the longer hair and cockleburs . Here's ShellB, 9 weeks old and is showing the potential of being a solid retrieving machine. Got her at 6 weeks and had her crate trained, potty trained, and sitting within the first week. Just letting her be a pup for the most part working on obedience with sit, stay, come, down, and heal with play bumpers and wings mixed in for fun. 6 weeks old. With the wing. This afternoon with the deadfowl trainer for the first time. "Come on lets go"
