Members cedarglenguy Posted February 10, 2014 Members Posted February 10, 2014 Heading down to the lake this weekend. I'm at the 13mm of the Niangua. Does anyone know if it's all iced over past the bridge heading to HaHaTonka?
Members parsonsles87 Posted February 10, 2014 Members Posted February 10, 2014 i dont have any info on the ice situation but if you are able to fish please post a report. i dont live there anymore but i grew up on loz and use any excuse possible to make it back as often as i can. even tho its a 2 hour drive. what kind of fish do you plan on targeting?
Bushbeater Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Called my son when I saw your post, he's directly across from Ha Ha Tonka. He said it is all frozen except the spring branch cove. He also mentioned they have dropped the lake to winter pool.
fishinwrench Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Yeah, if you want to anchor down some shallow brush or make some rock piles and stake beds NOW is the time !
Members BHowe Posted February 10, 2014 Members Posted February 10, 2014 I'm on the #1 of the Big Niangua and it's frozen as far as the eye can see
Members cedarglenguy Posted February 10, 2014 Author Members Posted February 10, 2014 Thanks for the updates, sounds like I'll be fishing for crappie on the docks this weekend
Old plug Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 I think it might be next week around tuesday or wednesday before we see a ice out. suppose to snow tomorrow then we will get a warm upned the nights to stay above freezing.
Members BHowe Posted February 12, 2014 Members Posted February 12, 2014 Went down to the dock last night and tried to bust the ice to see how thick it was. Never got through but I could see it cracking about 5" down. Needless to say, I was walking around the dock last night on the ice.. This cabin fever is killing me......Chainsaw time tonight Jack!!!
