Wish I could have walked through on media day. Lucky dog! I attended last year's classic. It was awesome. I so want to attend another one.

The weather blew through about midnight last night, and it's clear and around 40 degrees. So today's predicted weather has changed to sunny. I'm upping my guess to 93.4 pounds. Walked through media day yesterday, and a lot of guys were putting new hooks on rattle baits or tying on rattle baits, FWIW.

Over 90 lbs.? That would be something. I hear ripping those Traps out of grass is a popular technique on that lake. Sounds like a lot of fun.

I'm familiar. It was my idea. I wrote Bassmaster about it 3yrs ago when they were in New Orleans. I thought a live GPS view showing where anglers were was a great idea. You felt more connected and like you had an idea what was going on.

Now whether or not I originated the idea, I don't know for sure. But I like to think I did. Lol.

Not bad. A few hours into the day and that app has Tharp with 5 bass almost 20lbs, culling a 2lber already. Is it also correct in that KVD has yet to latch on to one?

Ole E-squared came out of no where and in 2nd place. I think the marshals are just not checking in all that quickly with some. Adds to the refresh rate and the suspense! LOL

The weather blew through, but it was cooler than I thought this morning--in the upper 30s. And we had a small tornado hit in town, so the weather was pretty wild about 3 am.

I went out with three guys on a private lake an hour and a half north of Birmingham, and the bite there may well be representative of what is happening on the big lake---very slow morning with a jerk bait bite starting to turn on close to lunch. After lunch it started to pickup, and by four it was on fire. Between the two boats we had several times when three of us were hooked up at once, and in the boat I was in, doubles were the rule for quite a while. For about an hour it was every cast. Granted, most of the fish were small, but the action was very consistent. I did catch two fish on a jerk bait--we were fishing the new Rogue Elite 8. I could learn to like jerk baits--that was a hoot!
