Hughesy Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 I'd ask Grizzly. Would think one of the bench tops is enough for casual use. Seems like when I asked him about it, Tim was using a stand up cabinet, but that has been many years back. I use a blast cabinet a lot. I use baking soda as it is non toxic and does not remove any details in the lure such as scale patterns. Any of the cabinets will work, but i like the ones where the lid opens straight up as opposed to the ones that have side doors. All of your soda falls out the sides on those models. You can buy the soda in bulk at harbor freight.

Guest Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Awesome! I will post photos when I get the blaster up & running. Thanks for the input.
dtrs5kprs Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Just treated my warts to some new executive level digs...one of the deep Bass Mafia coffins. Pretty slick, very easy to get two of each color in the slots. Should minimize the clumps of warts. And it is a nice bright red to remind you to stop and take it inside at night. It is a very heavy box though. A bunch of them would add a lot of weight, especially up front.
Guest Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 I've been looking at the coffins. Are they waterproof
Mitch f Posted April 12, 2014 Author Posted April 12, 2014 Just treated my warts to some new executive level digs...one of the deep Bass Mafia coffins. . Took a bit of internet research to figure out what the HELL you guys were talking about. Are they that much better? "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
Skeeter ZX190 Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Does anybody know what year Rapala stopped making the wart, and Storm started?
rps Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 Does anybody know what year Rapala stopped making the wart, and Storm started? Rapala currently makes the wart. Bill or Dave Storm's company invented it. Rapala bought him out. He made some sort of deal with Brad's before he made the deal with Rapala. Some years after Rapala bought his company, his son brought out Dave's KaBoom. For a while they had a wiggle wart look alike but now they don't. Probably a story there.
dtrs5kprs Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 Took a bit of internet research to figure out what the HELL you guys were talking about. Are they that much better? I'm not entirely sure yet. Things I do know...1) they are heavier, like quality camera or pistol case heavy, 2) they are waterproof (o-ring), 3) they float (think that would be big for canoe types), 4) they feel darn near indestructible. There are reports of them falling off trailered boats going down the highway and surviving. Would I convert everything? Not a chance. For baits that sell used for $25, figured it was worth a shot. Have another that is the regular 3700 footprint but have not figured out what to use it for. Jigs would seem obvious, but I like my jig box as currently set up. Seems like overkill for stickbaits. If you fish a lot of custom baits, either just painted or balsa types, it would probably be smart. On the deep one there are something like 48 compartments. Two warts drop right in each. The dividers do not fall out even if you flip it and shake it. The little channels they fit in are properly sized, as are the retainers on the edges of the dividers. This keeps them from popping out sideways when you pick it up. Of course it would have to flex for that to actually happen. No flex at all.
